AquaDom
Written by Jason Loo
Monday, 15 January 2007

In the course of my surfing (virtually), I happened upon a rather interesting piece of innovation. To me, itz really remarkable and worth a visit if you are ever in Berlin, Germany.

Aquadom 4  Aquadom 5

This is the AquaDom. It is a marvellous man-made acrylic aquarium which is about 25 meters in height, cylindrical in shape and comes with a built in elevator. It was opened in December 2003 at a cost of 12.8m euros. The AquaDom is filled with an estimated 900,000 litres of water and holds a few thousand fishes of various species.

Imagine if you can have one constructed in your condominium or even house (though it would be shorter in height). Even better, what if we have a Great White shark in the aquarium with people in the elevator having an experience of their life.

So, do drop by the The Radisson SAS Hotel where the AquaDom is located. Click read more to see more pictures Wink

2006 ... 2007 ... ... wooohooo

Spent New Year's eve in a pub called One Six. Itz situated right next to Souled Out. Before that, the night started with a dinner in a Japanese restaurant called Sugitomo. Nice food n good ambience. Here's a picture of the food ..

Food

That's the aftermath of course. yes, the food was great (try the Unagi Bento set).  We had a fun time chatting up and throwing jokes around we almost completely forgot about food. However, service was a bit slow in coming, possibly due to the crowd.

The waitress was quite lovely too. During an interval, she even suggested that I jump out of the window located nearby (jokingly of coz .. it was new year after all Innocent)

Well, after dinner (which lasted almost 2 hours) .. we made our way to a joint called One Six.

So, there we were .. 9 in all heading to the local pub called One Six. There was not much of a crowd then coz it was still early (around 9pm) .. so we sat down and ordered some buckets of beer. It was a cozy, cheery pub with a great crowd. The bunch of us had a great time there, catching up with each other, playing dice and watching the MTV on the big projector screen. As midnight approached, the lot of us started to get wild and danced to the rhythm of the night.

With much aplomb, the midnight hour struck  .... 2007 and the party started with a lot of cheering, loud trumpets and fireworks.

Woohoo

And there it was ... the year 2007 is here to stay .. Happy New Year to everyone and may whatever wishes you made for this year come true .... Happy 2007 to alll .... wooo hoooo Innocent

Innovation in the 21st Century

 Innovation globe

In the new era of business globalization, one keyword is apparent in competing for market share. That keyword is Innovation

From Apple iPods to Sony Playstation 3 to ever inventive uses for household items, there can be no stopping a company from gaining popularity (and market share) if innovation is part and parcel of the culture.

Innovation as defined by Dictionary.com is "something new or different introduced" & "the act of innovating". That process and culture of innovation in an organization is not easily achieved especially if the existing environment focuses on core values instilled since the foundation of the organization.

Please read on for more of My thoughts on innovation for an organization .....
