Ahh ... time of the month for an update on movies and such. Stay tuned for more updates to come :)
Fast & Furious 4 : The opening scenes of the movie was pretty exciting. Moving forward was quite a typical movieline. Revenge, hot cars and shootings. Thsi time around I felt there was not enough hot sweet cars. Mainly it was pure muscle cars rather than speedier than a bullet cars :P There was not enough hot chicks too ... only one or two noticeable ones. I thought Michelle Rodriguez was one of the main actresses but unfortunately, she got offed in the first few minutes of the movie. Quite disappointing actually coz she provides some great actions and stunts. All in all, action and story is not as expected from a Vin Diesel and Paul Walker combo Fat n Furious movie.

| Confessions of a Shopaholic : I expected a girly movie and a girly movie was what I got, albeit it was a much enjoyable movie. Easily one of the entertaining movies of April. The movie centres on a girl (Rebecca Bloomwood) supported by her best friend and a cast of supports. Shopping is like heaven to her (and the mannequins are the talking angels). It chronicles the moments of total bliss for her when she sees items are clearly unnecessary but she just wants it i.e. the green scarf which proves to be the focal point of the movie. Of course, there is the usual love interest which gets her straightened out and a happy ending for all. Straight out from the book by Sophie Kinsella. I would recommend to book-lovers to grab the book. It should be an enjoyable read :) |
| Paul Blart : Mall Cop - Well, what can I say .. Paul Blart just reminds me of ... me :P ekekeke .. not exactly like him in the total 'round' sense though. The movie is, well basically about a shopping mall security guard who has hypoglycemia, turns out to be a hero and wins the lead lady in the end. And of course, he chooses to be the typical mall cop instead of a super-cop in the end :P | |

Since passport is required to have at least 6 mnonth validity, I decided to go to the Damansara Immigration Dept to renew my passport. I arrived at around 8am (after some heavy rain and typical heavy jam). Proceeded to Level 2 looking for the Kiosk machine to deposit my passport. I didn't find the kiosk though so had to go to the Information counter downstairs to find out.
(Note to those who intend to go to Kajang Immigration : Initally planned to go there but found out last minute that it had moved from Metro Plaza to Kompleks Perhentian Bas Kajang in Bangi)
Turns out that the Kiosk machines were located on the in the front of the building, opposite the mamak shop. The entrace sign shows "KIPPAS". Not sure what it means and that's why I missed it when I first arrived at the Immigration office.
Following are quck & easy steps to renew via the Kiosk machine :
1. Observations - Kiosk is touch screen - Kiosk comes with multiple slots for passport, MyKad, cash payment and envelope deposit.
2. Pre-requisites (prepare before going there - only for kiosk) - 1 passport photo - old passport - 1 photostat copy of IC - on arriving at the kiosk, please get envelope from the nearby counter and insert the above items into the envelope. Envelope does not need to be sealed.
3. Verification - You will be asked to insert the old passport into a slot. Once inserted, the passport will be verified by the machine. - After successful passport verification, you will be prompted for MyKad. Slot in the card and it will verify your identity.
4. Pages for passport - Once verification is successful, you will be prompted to enter no. of pages for new passport. Defaulted and only one option : 32 pages
5. Pay cash and envelope - You will be prompted to insert the cash payment (only RM50/100). RM 300 for 32 pages - Insert the envelope into machine - Once inserted, a receipt will be generated. Please keep this receipt and wait for 2 hours.
6. Collect new passport - Head to Level 2 Immigration office and go straight to counter 16 to get your queue no. (nombor giliran). Please do not go to the first counter (labeled "No. Giliran") as that for other matters. For new passports, go directly to counter 16. - Wait for your turn to be called. Officer will give you the new and old passport. You will be required to sign on receipt of the new passport. - Please verify the information in the passport (same as old passport except for passport no.)
Woohoo ... got mine in 3 hours. Now, I am all ready to take a trip :)
